PERSPECTIVES: “For Me, To Be a Chancellor is to Lead a Life of Contradictions”

Written anonymously by a current chancellor and posted in Inside Higher Education’s SANDBOX: “It is walking right up to the line of contradiction, to know exactly where the boundary is, always, and not to cross it. To be a chancellor is to know who I am, be wholeheartedly comfortable with that, and know, constantly, that I am not quite what anyone wants me to be.
