“Really, the very first step is the same thing that we expect our children to do: Acknowledge the problem,” Denhollander said…. “So my children, all of them, even the 4-year-old, is required to go through this step by step, acknowledging what went wrong, acknowledging the damage that was done, and then asking what do we need to do to make it right.
