While other public universities turned over their agreements, mostly without redactions, Wisconsin denied my request, claiming that the Altius relationship was actually contracted through the University of Wisconsin Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3). Why an athletic department consulting deal would be run through UW’s foundation made little sense, given that no other Altius deal I’ve encountered was handled this way.
