NEWS BRIEFS: Graduating Lower-Income Students? Most Michigan Public and Private Universities are Below National Average

From the Bridge Michigan: “Nine of Michigan’s 15 public universities graduate a lower share of their low-income students than the national average of 49 percent, according to a Bridge Michigan analysis of data from the National Center for Education Statistics. Among the state’s private colleges and universities, 13 of 25 are below the national average.” The best performers are the University of Michigan (public) and Kalamazoo College (private).
