NEWS BRIEFS: “Michigan Reconnect” Expansion is Good News for Michigan’s Workforce

FROM BRIDGE MICHIGAN: “Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has announced an expansion to the Michigan Reconnect program that pays for community college, lowering the minimum age from 25 to 21. Applicants must lack a college degree, have lived in Michigan for at least one year, and have a high school or equivalency diploma. Michigan Reconnect was created in 2021 in an effort to get 60% of the state’s workforce to earn a postsecondary degree or training by 2030. Over 132,000 Michigan adults have since applied.”  Read more here.
