NEWS BRIEFS: Michigan’s Public College Enrollment is Declining

Mike Wilkinson and Isabel Loman, writing in Bridge Michigan: “College enrollment by last year’s high school graduates is still well below pre-pandemic levels. 53% of the class of ’22 went to college within six months of graduation, and that’s down from an average of 63% pre-pandemic. As many as 10,000 fewer high school graduates chose college last fall.” Read here about why and the implications for Michigan.
