On Tuesday, June 9, the AAUP announced the formation of a Committee of Inquiry to examine multiple serious violations of academic freedom and the dismantling of shared faculty governance across Texas public universities. As Todd Wolfson, AAUP President, said: “What happens in Texas does not stay in Texas. The policies being implemented there are increasingly being proposed and replicated elsewhere.”
