FROM INSIDE HIGHER EDUCATION: “State-level anti-DEI laws have proliferated for several years now, but diversity-related programs and services were dealt a double blow this year when Trump took office. Under repeated threats to their funding, higher ed institutions began to rebrand or shut down cultural centers, Black student resource centers, and LGBTQ+ and women’s programs. Many campus diversity officers lost their jobs or were shuffled off to other offices, barred from doing much of the work they were hired for.” That reality requires that campus leaders pivot to a new way of describing and offering DEI programs.
