Ron DeSantis on June 26 unveiled a new accreditation body he says will challenge the “woke cartel” controlling academia and restore what he calls “true academic excellence” across the South. The new group, called the Commission for Public Higher Education, will aim to offer colleges an alternative path to accreditation — a vital credential tied to academic standards and access to federal financial aid, DeSantis stressed. Along with the State University System of Florida, the other founding systems include North Carolina’s public universities, the Texas A&M University System, the University System of Georgia, the University of South Carolina and the University of Tennessee System.” Read more here.
