Austin Sarat, Amherst College, writing in Verdict: “Project 2025 envisions that a second Trump administration would use the threat of cutting off federal funds to reshape the ideological landscape of colleges and universities. It would do so by claiming to protect civil rights. As Mandate for Leadership puts it, higher education needs to respect “the civil rights of all Americans, including those who have been censored by the government or had it weaponized against them.” That means, among other things, “rejecting gender ideology and critical race theory.” Read his full commentary here.
