It’s happening all too often–recently at Florida State, then Iowa, and now at the University of North Carolina system–naming a new university or system-wide executive who doesn’t have academic credentials. The alternative is to turn to a politician (FSU, UNC) or a business executive (Iowa). Read about the UNC situation here.
