“A Grand Valley State University student in Allendale, Michigan, recently filed a Freedom of Information Act request. He was trying to get access to documents related to an ongoing investigation at the school where he was involved. Instead of those documents, he was hit with a $84,000 bill. He’ll have to pay up to get the records. The student’s parents believe the school is using the bill to prevent their son from accessing the records.” Read more here.
