Note: Acceptance rates have gone down, in some cases significantly, at a variety of prestigeous private colleges/universities (e.g., Stanford, 10.3% in 2011, 3.95% in 2025) and the so-called “public ivy’s” (e.g., UCLA 23% in 2011, 10% in 2024). That said ….
FROM THE WASHINGTON POST: “As enrollment in colleges and universities continues to decline — down by more than 2 million students or 10 percent, in the 10 years ending 2022 — they’re not only casting wider nets. For the first time in decades, something else is happening to the college application process: It’s becoming easier to get in. According to new research by the American Enterprise Institute, colleges and universities admit a larger proportion of their applicants than they did 20 years ago.”
