“He” is Joseph Epstein, lecturer emeritus, Northwestern U. Epstein wrote a controversial op-ed recently in The Wall Street Journal. Among other things, he wrote: “The contemporary university president, after all, has little or nothing to do with education, but is chiefly occupied with fundraising and public relations.
