NEWS BRIEFS: Michigan State Faculty “Really Frustrated,” Academic Congress No-Confidence Vote Scheduled

Draft Resolution: Be it resolved that the Academic Congress of Michigan State University lacks confidence and trust in President Guskiewicz to effectively lead Michigan State University.

From the Detroit News by way of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni: “Faculty Senate Chair John Aerni-Flessner said he didn’t know Guskiewicz planned to stay at Michigan State until an hour before the announcement went out on Monday. “While this is being celebrated on the donor and athletics side, on the academic side, we’re feeling left behind,” said Aerni-Flessner, an associate professor in the School of Residential Community-Engaged Arts and Humanities.’ Read more here.

A no-confidence vote will be held through Tuesday, July 14, with the results released soon thereafter.
