NEWS BRIEFS: Why Aren’t More College Trustees Concerned About Issues Facing Students and Families?

A new national survey of college/university trustees reveals they are very concerned about the future of higher education, but mostly in terms of the financial stability of the sector and of their own institutions and systems. When asked which issue concerns them the most, fewer than 10% of public trustees surveyed picked any of the following issues: equal access to higher education (5%), incoming student preparedness (6%), and student debt (7%).
